Now in its ninth year of production, the Vancouver Branch newsletter is sent out to every Branch member or those who have opted to subscribe to it. It is produced 10 times a year, coinciding with our monthly branch meetings, plus one extra copy issued during the summer.
Ship's Log is packed with articles and information and photos. The publication is sub-titled "News and Views from the Members and Friends of The World Ship Society of British Columbia". Each month we print at least one feature article submitted to us by members on past experiences, travel or related stories of interest. We try to include as many photographs as possible. And each month, we feature a page or two of images culled from our Vancouver Branch Photo Collection. News of upcoming meetings, special events, museum events around the greater Vancouver area, Society news, and a list of ships that visited the Port of Vancouver during the past month are all featured.
As a member of the Vancouver Branch you will automatically receive a copy. But if you are not a member of the Vancouver Branch you can still subscribe to the newsletter. Costs (as at September 2002) are as follows: If sent to a Canadian address -- CDN$16.00; if sent to a USA address -- US$13.00; if sent overseas -- CDN$21.00. Cheques in Candian, Australian, New Zealand or US dollars should be made payable to the "World Ship Society" and mailed to Membership Secretary, 701-1011 Beach Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6E 1T8 Canada. Sorry, no credit cards accepted for local branch membership dues or subscriptions.
